Often times\, partnering with local technical colleges and universities is not included in discussions when exploring options to scale a business. However\, technical colleges and universities are a good resource for small businesses seeking talent\, development\, and funding support.  This session will highlight various ways that small businesses can expand capabilities by partnering with higher education institutions to build a talent pipeline\, provide upskilling opportunities for current employees\, and to pursue research and grant funding.About the speaker: Dr. Shatrela Washington-Hubbard serves as the Swinton A. Griffith III Dean of the Jacobs College of Business & Media at Brenau University. She holds an earned doctor of philosophy in learning\, leadership\, and organization development from the University of Georgia. Her professional experience includes industry experience in the fields of human resources and education. Dr. Washington-Hubbard's research agenda focuses on topics in entrepreneurship\, experiential learning\, and career development.
