About the presentation: Medical imaging is a vital part of diagnosing everything from broken bones to cancer…but not all imaging is equal. This presentation shines a light on the essential role of Registered Radiologic Technologists, who are Nationally certified experts in safely and accurately producing medical images. Learn how their training in anatomy, radiation safety, and technology ensures the highest standard of care. This presentation explores why choosing credentialed professionals protects patients and supports accurate diagnoses—because when it comes to your health, who takes your image matters.

About the speaker: Erika Bongart is a Registered Radiologic Technologist and the Program Director for the Radiologic Technology Associate Degree program at Lanier Technical College. Erika been a member of the Lanier Technical College faculty since 2019, and specializes in pediatric medical imaging.  Erika is a proud alumnus of LTC, where she earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology.  She was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Imaging Sciences from Boise State University, earned a Master of Education degree specializing in Learning, Design, and Technology from the University of West Alabama, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Leadership with an emphasis on Strategic Management. Erika is active in the medical imaging profession, presenting at local, state, and National conferences, and she currently serves as the President of the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists, and both the Student Affairs Chair and Annual Meeting Education Chair for the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists.
